The Highlander Gravel Event
Register
We’re pleased to announce The Highlander Brevet, a 200 km gravel adventure ride taking place July 17–19 through the beautiful Almaguin Highlands region.
This route explores quiet country gravel roads and historic heritage roads through a fascinating part of Ontario. As an adventure-style ride, we may filter water from local rivers and will ride past old settlements and ghost towns established before the railway era.
The ride consists of two 100km loops, both returning to our base near Sprucedale, north of Huntsville.
Accommodation (Optional)
Because amenities and lodging are limited in the area, we have arranged space for 8–12 riders at (Missing Link Adventure Tours)[https://mlat.ca].
This accommodation is entirely optional. Riders are absolutely welcome to participate in the brevet while staying elsewhere or arranging their own meals and lodging.
For those choosing the Missing Link option, the package includes fresh, seasonal farm-to-table meals:
- Friday: accommodation (dinner can be arranged depending on arrival time)
- Saturday: breakfast, lunch, dinner, accommodation
- Sunday: breakfast and lunch
Sunday Bonus Option
Sunday morning will include an optional shorter scenic loop, as well as a waterfall stop for anyone wanting a refreshing finish to the weekend.
Cost
For riders staying at Missing Link (based on 8 guests): $287.32 per person (includes accommodation, meals, and HST).
Please note: this pricing is based on 8 riders. If more than eight riders participate, the shared accommodation cost per person will decrease.
For additional guests joining Saturday dinner only: $67.80 per person (includes HST)
Additional Notes
Even if you choose not to stay at Missing Link, you are fully welcome to ride the event. Riders may book their own nearby accommodations and arrange meals independently.
Due to the majority of the routes being on gravel roads and some heritage roads, a minimum 40C tire is recommended.
Looking at the route you should note that there are several optional swimming spots along the way.
